Environmental concerns and an analysis of our fellow citizens’ transport habits led Matra MS to channel its resources and intelligence to serve research and development for new means of transport.

Means of transport are responsible for 70% of particle emissions and for 40% of nitrogen oxide emissions; half of this is due to cars alone.

Based on these facts and relying on its assets, Matra MS, a company renowned for its creative energy and technological innovation in designing vehicles adapted to new user needs, has created STEP, Neighborhood Electric Transport Solutions. Starting in 2006, a line of high-performance electric bicycles and electric quadricyles will mark Matra MS’ entry into this new sector.

 

The product line will then gradually expand to make up a complete offer of Light Electric Vehicles intended for local communities, administrations, corporations and individuals. This activity will make up for the gradual decrease in activity, so far focused on distribution and service for automotive parts and accessories in the framework of our prior commitments in relation to Renault and its network.

 

In addition to products that will be created, assembled and marketed under its own brand name, Matra MS will offer its structures and Manufacturing & Services skills to encourage the installation of new assembly activities and to develop new services for various customers and partners.
